IR’s Problem

Thought of mine expressed pretty well:

The problem with international institutions is that with well defined state borders, there is no blurring of the states. Therefore, this sections off the people preventing a world democratic state, and the defining characteristics of the players in world government are not the people but the power the state’s themself have. These borders must be slowly deterioted until there are none. Then democracy can happen, and there can be a world government. Steps cannot be skipped for this to work. Therefore, no world government before deterioated borders.

This post will basically become Steve hashing out ideas to himself since probably a total of 10 people actually read this on occasion.

Now..Can it be considered to be too late for these borders to fall because of all of the communication in the world and the lack of importance of Geography. Did we miss our chance? If so, then why NAFTA, CAFTA, and the EU?…..

So people know, I mean that the borders should diminish the way the (US) States’ borders diminished into one giant country. Almost ideal would be for the US to Annex the world in some fashion slowly. Other areas can do the same, i.e. the EU.
